Vero cells were derived from normal adult African green monkey kidney tissue. Vero cells are widely used in the production of viral vaccines because of their susceptibility to various viruses and their relative ease of adapting to the growth on microcarriers.
BD004 and AM LSM 598 are two low-serum media that support Vero cell adherent growth and viral production.
